I wrote that shit the same week my car broke down. My fuckin’ engine blew out and a bunch of fucked-up shit was happening all at the same time. I wrote the song during the summer of ’97, but I didn’t record it until the winter. That’s when I recorded the whole Slim Shady EP in about two weeks. Interscope heard it, liked it, and wanted to use it for the LP.
