Words from Havoc
“I’ve been trying to get on one of Eminem’s projects for a while now, and I’m pretty sure a lot of other producers have been trying to do the same thing, because that’s like a premiere project to get on. I’ve been sending tracks to him, and for this new project I sent about three tracks, and they took one. It’s a pretty dope track from what I hear. I haven’t even spoken to anybody close to his team who’s heard it. They’ve got the shit mad top secret, rightfully so, but I can’t wait to hear it because I know that he just killed it.
“When it came to him, it’s like, I really didn’t want to give him a track that he was already kind of familiar with rhyming to. I just wanted to do me and doing me consists of doing all kinds of different styles than what they associate me with, which is dark-sounding. The track that I did for him, it’s dark and at the same time it can go across the board as far as the content in the sample and what it’s saying. I try to think outside the box but not go too far with it. I think I met myself somewhere in the middle, and I hit him with a track and it worked.
