• 2Pac’s vocals were recorded circa 1992. The original version featured Stretch but his vocals were omitted from Eminem’s version.
• The song references 2Pac’s October 17, 1991, run-in with police. Weeks before the release of his debut album, he was brutally assaulted by two Oakland police officers after being stopped for jaywalking. He was choked, beaten, and had his face slammed into the concrete.
  2Pac later sued the city of Oakland for $10 million, eventually settling for approximately $43,000.
