• “Quitter” is a diss track aimed at former House of Pain frontman Everlast (a.k.a. Whitey Ford). The feud began when Everlast dropped a subliminal diss on the Dilated Peoples track “Ear Drums Pop (Remix).” Eminem retaliated with “I Remember,” which led Everlast to respond with “Whitey’s Revenge” — “Quitter” serves as Eminem’s response to the latter.
• When “Quitter” leaked in 2000, it was attached to a parody of 2Pac’s “Hit ’Em Up” — a second diss track aimed at Everlast featuring D12. The two tracks were recorded back-to-back during the same studio session.
• A bootleg vinyl containing “Quitter” and Eminem’s “Hit ’Em Up” was released that same year and is often mistaken for an official single, but neither track was officially recognized by Shady Records until their inclusion on the Shady Classics Mixtape in 2014.
