Samples and Interpolations
Words from Eminem and Denaun Porter
“In my head [the song was] a launching pad to help Slaughterhouse. To get people warmer to them, and show what they can do. I think that this record really fucking showcases what they can all do. I’m excited for the project, so I just wanted that to be the last song. Like, “This is the last impression. This is of things to come next.”
“Anchorman is one of my favorite movies. Every time I watch that movie, the part where Brick Tamland is standing with all of them in the office with Veronica, they’re all screaming and he’s like, “LOUD NOISES!” That’s one of my favorite parts of the movie. I was like, “Hmm, let me take that and make a beat out of it.” All I heard in my head was “LOUD NOISES!” this crazy horn section. I didn’t want it to be a regular boom-bap kinda beat. Every song has its own life and this one is totally different. It was a challenge cause I wanted to see how they were going to rap to it. It’s got a different time signature, I haven’t heard nobody use it in hip-hop yet. Trying to do live instrumentation with the horn section, that was the first time I had to really sit down with somebody and go through all of that.
