• "Shit On You" is the debut single by D12. The song peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart and No. 10 on the UK Singles Chart.
• The song appeared on leaked tracklists for The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000. The track can also be seen in a handwritten tracklist for the album, featured in Eminem’s 2008 autobiography, The Way I Am. Missing from the tracklist is the album’s eventual D12 collaboration, “Under The Influence,” suggesting it was likely recorded later.
• The track is notably missing Proof, a detail he addressed in his 2001 song “Shoot At You” from the Sicknotes album The Virus. In that track, Proof asks himself in the third person, “Why weren’t you on ‘Shit On You’?” to which he replies, “Ask Shady Records.” To further the connection, he continues using a flow that directly mirrors Eminem’s performance on the original song.
• The track was later included on Stan’s Mixtape — a bonus disc included with the deluxe version of Curtain Call: The Hits — which was released after “Stan,” in which the title character dies, creating a chronological contradiction in the narrative.
